Sutapa Bhattacharjee:
One
of the most versatile vocalists Sutapa carries the golden
voice of her mother & inherits the music of the
Bhattacharya family. She has started singing in any accurate
pitch at the age of one year and at the age of three she
could reproduce any song of Lataji, Ashaji, Sandhyaji,
Aratiji , Protimaji & Nirmalaji . Sutapa is learning
Indian classical vocal music since then .The main feature in
her singing ability is the emotional expression through her
rendition. Sutapa is able to sing any form of Indian music
in at least five different languages . Yet she is a
dedicated student of Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. Her attractive
performing ability not only being apprised in Kolkata,
Bengal & India but she has also being honored as a best
vocalist in the International Music Festivals of Canada,
where she kept audience of twenty thousand people,
spellbound.
Sutapa also
performed in Asia Music Fantasy held in Tokyo in the year
1996.Sutapa featured in the World Beat Television show of
CNN.Sutapa is a great voice trainer & choreographer too
she is a M.A. in vocal music. JETE JETE is a collection of
songs which say about the pure Bengali feeling of romance in
the different times of life and Sutapa has shown an
exceptional courage of bringing new songs of pure Bangla
tradition. Jete Jete is a bridge between the Golden Past of
Bangla Gaan and todays Multicultural musical background..
Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya and Bob Brozman collaboration
album Mahima ,which is in the bill board and world music top
10 chart where Sutapa has sang 4 songs and has received
world wide applause . The new album of the year 2004 is
Roddurer Rong has been released in Calcutta a pure modern
Bengali song album, under music direction of Debashish
Bhattacharya is again bringing the pure Bengali feeling in a
modern music.
