Imagine- Pt. Debashish Bhattacharya, Jerry Douglas, Ken Wessel and Gary Lucas live on stage. Fusing styles from Indian classical Raga, Jazz, Blues Grass to Rock the concert promises an unforgettable experience. Guitar skills blend with philosophy, aesthetics, academic forte, passion for the first time in India. The concert would also uphold the values of an International Guitar Camp to run simultaneously where national / international participants and some of the artists would share experience, playing tips, styles, information and jam together.Scheduled in the first week of December in Kolkata the concert would be another ground breaking event in the country's musical history. Organisers are also on the lookout for possibilities of hosting the gala event in other cities like Mumbai and Delhi.

More - The guitar concert and camp event is being organized by Bhattacharya's School of Universal Music and Trideb International Guitar Co. Brainchild of Hindustani Slide guitar artist Pt. Debashish Bhattacharya, this event he says, is just another way of doing something for the instrument that has made him a world celebrity. Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya believes that this event was a thanksgiving to the city as his album titled Calcutta Slide Guitar-3 won him the BBC Planet Award. Kolkata, he added, is important in his life and works as he was born and grew up learning music there. For his latest album Calcutta Chronicles-Indian Slide Guitar Odyssey, released this summer in the US, the producers World Music Network in London have commissioned a 30 min music video on the city. Pt. Bhattacharya's patented guitars-Chaturangui, Gandharvi and Anandi compositions have received infinite praises and inspired many from the present generation. For the camp, organizers are inviting entries with applicant's own music play from across the country and abroad. Interested participants are request to visit the regular updates at www.debashishbhattacharya.com for more details. So it's time folks to brush up and prove your mettle with the world's most popular – the Guitar.

Our luminaries of International Guitar concert & Camp are Garry Lucas, Debashish Bhattacharya, and Ken Wessel. We are hopeful about the immensely popular Jerry Douglas who has primarily shown interest in visiting India and joining this event.
